SeanTheHawker 0
the harris is a bird for beginners and experts alike, there the ideal bird to start with, why i have one lol, but are a very good hunter too. very easy going unlike some. get a couple of seasons out with someone with alrdy a bird and you will then have enough experience to train and hunt one Quote Link to post
Fletcher 0
Hi Mate Sorry to be boring, it's another male Harris Hawk, he's taken mainly rabbits and the odd small bird. I've never had a bad days hawking with him. Edited July 15, 2006 by Fletcher Quote Link to post
Toni_Dave_17 0
hes one fine looking bird! is this the easiest bird to train or is this bird just favoured? Quote Link to post
Fletcher 0
I couldn't say if the harris hawk is easiest to train, it's the bird that is this recommended as your first. I chose a male harris because of quarry I wanted to hunt, it strong enough to take rabbits and the agility to take some birds. At the moment its the only bird I want to fly. Quote Link to post
Toni_Dave_17 0
so with hunting birds of prey, its mostly a preference of what bird you want.....? Quote Link to post
Fletcher 0
No, I'd say it was the time you have to dedicate to the sport and the quarry you want to catch and the hunting land you have available. Quote Link to post
