Hunting Story
Hi every one
had a busy day at work so wanting to relax and enjoy so theres nothing on television so sent a txt to my apprentice charlie to see if he would like to go hunting. I waited paitently for his reply bless him hes not the fastest of replying I don’t think he does predictive txt. About half an hour passed and of went my phone to the sound of mission impossible it’s the tune I picked for when we go hunting.
went to my nearest permission last night a rugby club about 10 minutes away now this permission is a verbal one by the chairman of the club which I have sent a letter of permission to the club but had no reply. So when I was at the football club doing my usual mooch which has a number of bunnies on the football ground where I have written permission I thought I would go in to the rugby club and ask If they had received my letter .so popped in asked the bar staff if the chairman was about and she replied he is out putting some posts up. So of I go and see a few burly blokes by the posts and walked over to them as I got closer I realised the size of them and the biggest one only happened to be the chairman now im 5ft7 and this guy must have been 7ft tall with hands like shovels which I noticed when we shook hands on agreeing not to cause any hasell for him or the club which I answerd a yes striaght away.and walking away smiling like a cheshire cat because the two clubs combined have a big area not sure what acres it is just really pleased with getting the permission will work on written once I get to know him better.
as I said earlyer this is a verbal permission so still rang for a U.R.N. just in case after my last outing.well got set up gave charlie the walkie talkie so we could keep in touch just in case started walking over to the tree line by the pitch there is two big green containers which we snipe from set charlie up behind the flood light then he could see the whole length of the tree line.
i was sat at the other end of the containers waiting patiently as we do a half hour passed and charlie radioed me to tell me that there was 2 bunnies at 9 o'clock he new that the with of the container was obstructing my view .so up i get slowly s410 to shoulder inching forward and looking through the scope i get to the corner of the container grab hold and rest my gun and just panned round and there they were one must of seen the moderator come round and bolted but the other had its back to me so rude not to cross hairs locked on THWACK not a movement.
got me self back into position as i was going back i could see movement about 100 yds away but about 50 yds away from charlie so on the radio was i and let him know at 7 o'clock from him was 4 bunnies out so he had to do a full body crawl and turn and crawl about 20 yds to a raised area with some long grass on it to get in position so of he crawls watching him was a bit funny with his arse up in the air he was just about there and had a look through his scope as soon as he moved again they clocked him and they were of he was well pissed off lol.
so he had a little wander down by the car park and a sneaky fag i bet i went up to the furthest field were they do the archery but not on a Tuesday PHEW!. got my self into the trees and went down as far as the fence would let me great little spot loads of cover and can rest the s410 on the fence .before i entered the trees had a little look down the range and there was 10 bunnies out so shot straight into the trees anyway I'm at me sniping spot could see 2 of them in range. so took aim squeezed the trigger and nothing checked safety it was of took aim again squeezed again noting i thought what the fook is going on .put the safety on and of a few times and took aim again nothing so came away from my spot and messed about with the safety again and it fired so cocked it safety on and went back to my spot nothing there they had gone so well pissed of with the gun will have to get it fixed now
so by this time it was getting dark and a heavy shower was about to start so back to the car to sit out the shower and get the lamp on charlies gun and get my NV out. we were sat in the car for an hour and the shower had past so of charlie went to the tree line and i sat in the car park and just scanned the bank and flower beds. half hour passed and out they came four of them three out of range and one in range so flicked the NV switch on and its eye lit right up i locked on it THWACK it was down and so were the other three there holes. i could see charlie lamping away about 150 meters away then i heard a crack wasn't sure whether it was a skull or a tree then about 10 minutes later another crack I'm still looking around and decided to have one last recky round the pitch and nothing got round to where charlie was and he came walking up to me with 2 bunnies and a great big smile on his face his first on the lamp by this time it was getting late and had to be up for work {BORING} so we agreed to call it a night sorry if i have gone on a bit but its about being out there .
