earlymorning cull

these were shot first thing this morning arived at about four thirty got settled in after five mins the first victim was shot ,half an hour later job done ,one happy farmer even happier chickens,now i know some will condem this act but when a farmer requests it to be done then it has to be done otherwise someone else will be called to do it ,i dont like to kill cubs this young but i do fox control and shooting these this morning has secured me and my father some good ground for fox,hare.crow & pigeon

I was out on a call too, but it chucked it down as soon as i got settled in. :rolleyes:

Out again in the morning, see what i can get.

Your right mate people wont like it.

The difference with your post is you described it as a cull and not sport or big time shooting.

You have explained why and how you went about it.

Not a pleasant job but some times a necessary one.

that shot on the bigger fox seems pretty far back, is this the right place to shoot them, not knocking your shooting just curious.

yes you are right but she was quartering away, and she droped on the spot i knew the bullet was going to hit the vitals so it was going to be a humane shot i had to take the shot otherwise she was into cover and i may not have got another go at her and i was there to do a job

Thats a good post, and good pics mate, i wouldnt worry about the shot on the vixen, it isnt that far back.Using a proper calibre, ensure that shots like that kill, almost every time, i would say, it probarbly clipped the back of her lungs anyway.

Way to git-r-done Foxshot, was you using a call to bring them in, you've had better luck than me, we've had some hot weather here, cann't even catch a crow sitting in these hot fields and nothing coming to the calls, guess they are feeding at night and trying to stay cool in the swamp during the day.

:good: good job done FOXSHOT , where did you get that comb raiser for your rifle from , i need one for my 22-250 and arnt having much luck finding one .cheers :good:

nutshot the comb raiser was purchaced from my local gun club however rifle-cases.co.uk sell some good ones / rabbiter well spoted part of the lung was showing and my rifle is a 223 using 55gr v-max , as for EWOK'S question i knew where the set was so it was just a mater of getting somewhere in cover and waiting

What range on the Fox top right Foxshot ..................I use this ammo and have a photo of a head shot at 131 paces ..............look like you managed to squeak them close in :good:
