the Verminator 0
hi all, whats the best way to decoys carrion crows? yesterday i was out and i set a crow decoy out over a dead rabbit, the magpies came in and got shot but the carrion crows wouldn't land, they would only sit in the trees and as i was using my rimfire i couldnt shoot them. the setup couldnt be bad as a magpie came into investigate but the crows wouldnt. so, what do i need to do differnt? shottyscotty 3
you need to put a good few decoys or dead birds out to bring them in and then be very still and camoflarged with gloves and face mask and also if your hide looks out of place then they wll be spooked by that. i have no problem getting them to land while using the shotgun Quote Link to post
Catcher 1 639
Hi mate crows will do this most times. They will not come strait in As will magpies They will find a tree about 100 yards away and wait.Whem i come across this .The next time i put the bait in the same place.I make my hide near the the tree were the crows were landing the last time.Do this and you will get results.ATB.Catcher 1 Edited May 10, 2009 by Catcher 1 Quote Link to post
