Interested in ferreting

people do work deaf ferrets ok, just keep an eye out for him once he surfaces!! if your coonhound is crossed with a longdog it might work but the coonhounds look slow. as above get a spade and be ready to dig, dont know what the ground is like out your way!! is shipping really that expensive because nets dont weigh anything and surely they could post them as a gift if not i can send you some out marked as a birthday present. done it before for friends etc. pm me if you want. keep us up to date with your quest.

Sally is pretty fast, it only takes her a few seconds to run about 100 feet.

 

I'm not ever sure what she's mixed with but here are a couple pictures

 

 

 

I know she's a bit thick in those pictures but we are working on trimming her down a bit.

if you ferret open warrens in the middle of no where and tehre is only a few hoels not much can go wrong net up dog on slip or free walimgh about and 2 jills in if they kill they should surface like mine do but they might stay down there and eat the rabbits :/ follow the tunnel and dig down if your not using locators....

I can tell you she's not mixed with jack russell, she is nearly the size of a Blue Tick Coonhound.

 

I think any of my dogs would work for marking holes.. I've got a pit bull beagle mix who tried going into a burrow, and I've got a pure bred beagle too... And my 3rd dog is a lab beagle mix, then I've got Sally the coon mix.

 

Sadly I can't do anything with the ferrets until September, 4 months to go.

 

Ferret Feller, did you get that PM I sent?? About the tracking collars?

sounds like them dogs would mark burrows at least. and im not sayin they wouldnt catch anything because they might do if they listen and catch the rabbit immediately the moment it bolts

Solostoke, that was a good video.. I don't think my coon would have much trouble doing that.. But I'm getting nets too.
