FOXHUNTER 5,021
I was out at 4.45 am this morning on a local farm to look for signs of fox as the farmer has lost some ducks. On arrival it was quite chilly with a stiff breeze. I glassed around the likely spots and saw nothing but a few rabbits and pheasants. I then proceeded to the highest point and scanned the ground below to see if anything was moving. I heard a cock pheasant giving the alarm call shortly followed by a fox emerging from the wood. This fox was 2 fields away from me but heading in my direction. When it was hidden from view I raced across the 1st field , my presence hidden by a hedge . I headed for a gate where I thought the fox would come through . On reaching the gate the fox was still mooching in the field so I creeped along the hedge to find a firing position . I got set up on my bipod and my .22/250 barked loudly shattering the morning silence . A dog fox was the prize............... Quote Link to post
