Pumper dog 0
Was recently watching the above and after Blondies second run you can see Alan Sankey with a spray bottle massaging the contents over the dogs coat and muscles. You'll have to excuse my ignorance fell's as haven't done much coursing but what will have been in that bottle? Will it have been an animal safe form of say 'Deep heat'? Quote Link to post

Tommy 9
It's probably just a type of embrocation spray/rub used buy most greyhound trainers. One of the most used is Alco Ectolin, used simply to warm and loosen up a dogs muscles. All the best Tommy Quote Link to post

I think its called bone radial Done think it will be bone radial mate. Just probably some curacho embrocation fluid. They massage the muscles of the dog as a warm up prior to running. IMHO it really makes the dogs run better of colder days and there is a lot less risks of muscle injury....in hare coursing... Quote Link to post
brock 11
it is a type of linament used by greyhound lads, its very good, ive found dogs run better after a good rub down, and if used after coursing or lamping you will find the dogs are not stiff the next day Quote Link to post
jigsaw 11,863
Afew greyhound men I knew rubbed Putteen into the legs and back before a course, but very sparingly,to those wondering what it is,its a fairly potent form of alcohol, supposed to keep them warm and loose(the dogs that is),saying that it was used on humans too for the same reasons,as a rub of course, taken orally you probably suffered from premature rigamortis. brock 11
it definately wont be bone radial, that is very strong stuff whch is used for healing brocken or fractured bones etc if used wrong this bone radial can burn the skin of a dog,as i said earlier the stuff in the spray bottle is simply a dog linament, its the same stuff as rugby players etc use before a match to loosen up the muscles Quote Link to post

J Darcy 5,871
Bone radial is bought in small bottles and is used for callousing up meak areas of bone, i.e where slight fracture may have occured etc. Used it myself and it is very good indeed, but advice needs to be sought from a greyhound man prior to treatment.... Used Curracko, funny smell, but not unpleasant Quote Link to post
