Phantom pregnancy?

Recommended Posts

About 2 months ago, i got my first ferret since about 4 years ago, after deciding to get back into it.

When i got her, she was starting to come into season, so when she was in season, i took her to get a jill jab, as i didnt have the set up to look after a litter yet.

This was about 6 weeks ago, and the vet told me she would come into season again a month or two after the jab. Well she hasnt yet, but her nipples have swollen. Also, about an hour ago i changed her bedding, but she pulled a lot of it out of the box, when i tried to put it back in, she quickly bit me (she never bites me). Is it possible she's having a phantom pregnancy and she was getting the bedding ready for the 'birth'?

As this has never happened to me before, im just having a guess here. Can anyone tell me if its ever happened to them or what they think may be going on?

Cheers,

John
