Only time you should be pulling feathers is when the light system is used, then there is a correct way to do it. Pigeons moult there feathers which can be manipulated by delaying the laying of the second nest of eggs, you can work out which races your pigeons will hit form by manipulating the moult, but as I've said theres forums to discuss things like that and this isnt one of them.
