OldTrapCollector 377
I get them about once a month I suppose, and have done since my teens. Triggers for me are milk chocolate and bright sunlight - especially when driving Migalieve, straight to bed with curtains drawn is the only option - otherwise I get shakes, blindness and sickness - which makes it almost intolerable It is a commoner affliction than you would think though OTC
donk 12
Been getting them since i was a kid, thing that works for me is called 'imigran' apparemtly its a man made opiate? well trippy but gets rid of them. Been trying some alternatives lately, like drinking a pint of water straight off then massaging my ears and sinuses, also massaging my whole head, yeah i know its a bit hippyish but it seems to work fairly well. Guest hyperion
i used to get some corkers when i was younger, even to the point that they were giving my nose bleeds, but touch wood i seem to have grown out of them!, and the only time i seem to get them is the morning after the night before! mother gets some really bad migraines that can last days if she eats milk chocolate or uncooked cheese!, and my brother gets them if he drinks coffee! cheers hyperion
harrycatcat 31
Very nasty these things but I find I get them worse if I don't drink enough water and have too much salty food such as Chinese food. I still get on average one or two a week but they not as bad if I have the water and avoid salty stuff. I have woke up at 3 am with a migraine and they have been so bad before I started having more water I have felt like blowing my head off the pain was so bad. It seems worse at that time in the morning as no ones about and you feel isolated. Mine only started when I stopped smoking about 8 years ago. I had a migraine one once when my terrier was a puppy and I was sat in my chair dozing and I thought I could hear a noise but couldn't be bothered to look and the terrier had chewed the corner of our new fireplace that cost £450. Ah well I suppose there are worse things that we could have.

Miss Tarka 3
Oh the joy of migrains....they run in the family with me.....i suffer with them regularly......get the flickering lights with some of the and sometimes im fie one minute and not the next....if i take tablets the second i feel one coming on im generally ok...if i dont then they are awful....hurts to move...let alone anything else.....and they can last days without easing up at all...makig me sick and dizzy have een known to make me pass out....not nice things.... Found that dark chocolate and oranges trigger mine...anything orange..the smell of it is enough to bring one on... have had them come on at work as well whixh isnt nice because i then have to drive home and driving isnt fun with a migrain...if during the day the sun makes it more painful and driving at night the headlights of on coming vehicles make it worse as well.... To get shot of them i take very strong tablets and go to bed and turn the lights off..... Atb Miss T x

jembo 0
I used to get them once a week, had some reiki done last year and now get them once every couple of months. I have to take some pain killers and turn off all lights and sleep, that is the only thing that gets rid of them. If i dont sleep i am in real pain, and am usually sick, with the usual double vision. I hate migraines!!

arcticgun 4,548
I might get flamed for this but try smoking a joint when you have one, it won't last to long then! my old man used to be laid up days with them, he tried it and never looked back, atvb Richard (Mods please remove if required, only trying to help)
