Hi Kay, Cracking set of pictures again!

 

first fly, not sure,

then the green one is a sheild bug.

I don't know my snails...

Hoverfly of some sort

And Bombus hortorum - the garden bumblebee. A lovely bumblebee! Really like that you can see it extending its tounge.

Will try and look up the species of the other photos later on if I get time.

Thanks Steph i knew you would know what was what, the bee was fairly dopey so i was able to get a good few pics but one or two came out blurd , it fell off the nettle at one point & almost shook its self & carried on :laugh:

kay, its pokey thing is called a proboscis :tongue4: or probiscus

 

Oh a probe :laugh: thats sounds worse than pokey thing :laugh: it looks like one to me going in the centre of the flower i think to get the pollen out so it must be a fair size to get in the little parts of the flowers

yup definatly getting the hang of it Kay lol

 

Guess what i did this will make you shake your head in disbelief :laugh: i was getting the camera in focus as this bee was a dopey one so not moving round much & i knew the nettles were stinging my hands & wrists & yet my brain didnt make me move them , i think it was because i was concentrating on the bee :yes:

I had some cats last year but i havent seen them as moths yet do they like pollen then
