Who does a bit of fishing then?

Right! Ian asked me if I fancied being a mod on this forum, and I have gone for it.

 

So, how many of you that use this site are partial to a bit of angling?

 

I really am interested.

 

I am pretty well versed in most matters concerning coarse angling but as is always the case with fieldsports I am learning new things all the time.

 

I confess now to knowing pretty much sweet FA about Sea Fishing of Fluff Chucking in its various forms. Must admit, I fancy a bit of a go at fluff chucking.

 

So back to my initial question, Who are the anglers amongst us? What type of angling do you do?

fly fishing for sea trout on the afon conwy at night . salmon fish on the worm and with spinners when the river is up and I also do a lot of float fishing . The biggest fish i have had this year is a 17lb carp .

I love fishing mate mostly trout and a bit of salmon when there up but in the winter its pike...

 

i fish whenever i can ... twice a week i will go out at first light and get a couple of hours in before work

yes i get out on the rivers from time to time. Coarse fishing. Mainly target chub in the Loddon, Berks. Trying for a (decent) barbel this coming season.Also fish the Yorkshire Ouse when I stay at in-laws at Stockton.

When I go back to my famly in Pembrokeshire go out with brother in law after bass off the rocks.

Father in law on Teeside took me to Seaham one boxing day after cod, without doubt coldest bleakest days fishing ever. I'd done my flask of coffee by 6am and we fished till noon

well done mate i had 10 rainbows all between 2 &3 lbs and 1 blue at 4lb not on a fisherie but my local club water we stock once a year in april but the fish are really starting to come on now with this warmer weather

no mate we have the fishing rights for a 25 acre loch near the campsie hills in scotland we stock 2000 fish per year its only 10 mins from my house and iv had some really good nights on it

 

i do a bit of river fishin aswell but mostly when the salmon and sea trout com up !

yep i love a bitt of fishing ..ime a sea man myself best ive had is a 7lb doggy from the beach ..dosent sound big but any sea angler worth there salt knows thats a biggen from the beach look forward to a few sea fishing debates as i feel i know my stuff :ph34r: ...bulls

reet moocher i am mainly an fisherman, well try to be :whistle: i most carp in the summer, but also tench fishing on the pole but i mainly like fishing for pike in the winter in the past i did a lot of match/course fishing and went in a lot of junior matches :ph34r: so there you go i am a fisherlad n proud of it

Hi Moocher,

 

Been fishing for about 25 years now..........20 carp fishing.

Like to dust off the old float rod now and again..........best day was on the Kennet dace fishing with Bob James.

Didnt catch lots....but .......well you know..........everything was just perfect.

Done a bit of resevoir fluff chucking from a boat.........but would really like to try dry fly chalkstream fishing, that must be the purest form of the sport IMHO.

My fishing has changed since I was younger.....its not about the numbers game anymore, its more about everything being right.........the place.........the fish.........no one driving me mad

Dont like to catch loads............just to catch what I like my way.

Not putting anyone down, but I no way could go to 1 of these carp puddles to get a bend in the rod, even in mid winter.

 

Whats your feelings on Bait Boats ............I think they shoulnt let you have one untill you have fished for 5+ years

I would never have 1...........but hey...........thats just me.

I see a lot of people now days fishing shallow, weedy lakes and if the batery runs out, they are stuffed.............allways makes me smile

 

Anyway, enough from me........good to have you on board.

I love my fishing (27years) sea trout fishing at night being my first love (see sea trout page on this forum) its worth noting that according to last weeks shooting times 84% of people who shoot also fish.
