cdnhastings 23
im saying that on this site there seems to be a lot more crosses going on than the other sites i frequent on the american pages is all. Not saying I'm right and conceding that Im wrong, just how it seems is all. I've been on some sites talking about the different dogs being bred and discussed on this page and have been told that they're mutts, which by the way I totally disagree. love all the different crosses people are making for different work they are encountering. Well if you have a good working line or type of terrier it would be to your benefit to keep that line/type of terrier working. Most would say the way to do it is to keep the breeding as close as possable. But some times an outcross is desirable and if a terrier of another breed is showing the desirable traits you want and others arent why not go for that outcross.the 1st generation of pups should be good having hybrid vigour as an added plus, and then you can get on breeding closer to your original line. Of course in a perfect world no breeing would be carried out except by dogs that are proven workers and have a history of prooven workers in their blood. But it isnt a perfect world.JMO Quote Link to post
