Guest CharlieC
If you want advice on anti bark collars Im yer wo(man)!! Ive used every kind there is and most have drawbacks the aboistop is ineffective on some dogs, the static shock can be too mild for some dogs and the electric shock ones can rub their necks raw as well as being activated when the dog snores, shakes its head etc. The BEST collar you can buy for anti barking is a remote control shock collar, that way you control when the dog gets the shock, trust me, FAR more effective than aboistops, petsafes and canicalms they can be used for other training as well, although Im old fashioned, I prefer to use them for barking prevention only. They cost £100 on Ebay, dont ruin the dogs skin, long battery life and once your dog has a couple jabs, they wont bark again EVER! lol lol 100% effectiveness, I used to sell canicalm and aboistops and since I discovered these collars, theres no going back. The intital training period requires you shock the dog immediately he barks and once he has learnt bark=shock, he will soon quiet down. Any occaisional barks after the first day or so, you can give him a warning bleep instead and he should shut up immediately. These are VERY effective and I would reccommend them to anyone having problems with noisy dogs. You can take the battery out after about a week and the dog will not make a peep. Quote Link to post

Guest itallion stallion
charlie c , i have to agree with you about the canicalm collars rubbing on the dogs skin . i also found that the old canicalm ones i had tended to crack between the electrodes which hasnt happened on the premium ones yet as they seem to have installed a thicker plastic base on them . i also have tried a dogtra one which seem really well made and the bloke said that the deben ones always seemed to crack but he said these ones wouldnt , so i will have to see ! when i sent the canicalms back ( 2 had cracked in the same place ) they wouldnt cover them under the warranty even though i pointed out it must be a design fault! which are the ones you are talking about ? as i have a few, as keeping bullterriers you find that something sets one of and they all start off , which doesnt go down well with the neighbours and finally is the one you are on about the one that can control a few collars with one unit ? ......thanks Quote Link to post
Guest CharlieC
hi italian stallion, See Ians thread about remote trainers Ive put a link up to the ones I bought off Ebay. Ive got 2 one for each of my bull terrier dogs cos they were both real barkers, drove me mad and Id previously tried aboistops (worked for a while then zack realised he could empty it by barking more and the canicalm one just made him go crazy he would jump around and growl and try to attack his own neck ) , so I tried these as a last resort and not a peep since, peace and bliss and quiet!!! ) Quote Link to post
