Found- BEDLINGTON-GREYHOUND-EARS CUT OFF

Recommended Posts

Anyone with any info PLEASE pm me, there is no need to do this- if some one doesnt want a dog for godsakes- let me know. I will find it a space somewhere within the rescues I deal with. This sort of cruelty is pathetic

The animal was found on a grass verge in Bedlington, Northumberland. His ears had been cut off and electrical tape was stuck to his back and legs. He was taken to a veterinary surgery in Morpeth for treatment and is making a good recovery. It is thought his ears were deliberately severed to get rid of identification tattoos. The RSPCA is urging anyone who knows who the dog once belonged to, or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, to get in touch as soon as possible. Inspector Ian Smith said: "This is a horrific and sickening act of cruelty. It is clear this dog's ears have been removed by a sharp implement, which must have caused him unimaginable pain and distress. Thankfully he was rescued early and taken to safety, else he easily could have died. We just hope someone will now come forward with vital information to help us discover what happened

I know you hate this sort of things as well so if you do know anything pm me- I will not pass on ANY names just info

Thanks

There's worse than this goes on - thankfully this one was found alive- the pregnant one that had some treatment & then chucked on a tip wasnt so lucky.

I will always do what I can to take in lurchers/ working dogs- I can keep them safe & find them homes. There's a couple of other rescues involved & members on here.

Still tattoo & microchip. Most of the greys that have ears mutilated is to stop them been traced back to breeders

that must be the second dog up that area as doxhope put a thread on not long ago about a greyhound in the same area and with the same things done to it with a pic.they recon a few years ago the northeast was the worst place for animal cruelty it makes you wonder if they didnt want the dog there would be someone willing to take it off there hands

DONT THINK IT'S FAIR FOR ANYONE AS OWNERS , TO DO THIS BARBARIC PRACTISE TO ANY DOG, BE IT BECAUSE IT'S , EITHER NOT VERY GOOD OR THE FACT YOU CANT AFFORD TO FEED IT, THERES PLENTY OF RESCUE HOMES, WHO WOULD BE ONLY TO PLEASED TO RE-HOME DOGS FOR OWNERS FOR A SMALL DONATION. IS'NT THAT A FAR BETTER OPTION, THAN MAIMING IT.
