nieghbour trouble

Don't you just just love neighbours :hmm:

Do you know if the neighbour who has complained has a cat?

if so just explain to him that if he can keep his cat out of your garden then you'll be able to keep the dogs quite as it's the presence of your cats that are winding the dogs up,give him a guided tour of your kennels,be pleasant that way if it escalates your the one who's been civil......and if that fails set fire too his house(only joking about the setting fire to his house)but it won't be long before someone comes on and tells you "they'd punch his lights out for posting a letter through my door, complaining about my dogs".....remeber your the one who has to live with these people....hope this bit of advice is of some use

They will have to contact the the local dog wardens about the noise of the dogs. They will have a word with you and probably look at where the dogs live. On one occasion they will only have a chat with you, if it goes on then they will turn up at your place at random times to see if they can hear the dogs making noise, if they do then they can take you to court.

I know this because I used to be a dog warden.

Sounds like you're going to be fine though as its a one off. Might be worth having a word with the lady next door to smooth things over!

Hope this helps a little.

Neil

If one of my neighbours had dogs that barked and howled at 6am and woke me up on more than one occassion, I would be pissed off. I would go around to whoever wrote the letter and appologies and try my best to stop the dogs doing it. I think they have a fair point, put youself in there shoes, would you like to be woken up when your trying to have a lazy sunday.

I have someone lives in my street, sounds similar to you.Look at you like you have 3 heads when you have words with them concerning the non stop barking.Dont matter whether im in bed to get up early for work or lying about like a loppy dog.......................a dont want to listen to a dog barking.Whether im a one off,i dont know. Some kids may like the sounds.Maybe next time you go out on the sauce, you put the dogs in the back yard of the pub & see if the locals enjoy their night as much..............No doubt them neighbours are elderly ?

they are usually quiet but sometimes they play abit, there is a cat that winds them up coz iv seen it.but like my mate said tonight i bet they wouldnt complain about them barking at a burgler trying to break in. as for where they live its cleaned every day,i scrub it twice a week with jeyes fluid and gets sprayed down everyday with the hose.i dont want it to smell as the kids and the missus are in the garden alot.the runs a good 15 foot so i know that if the rspca come theyd be more than happy with the conditions.and i would be pi**sed off if i got woke at that time but id have the curtusey to talk to them about it instead of a poxy letter through the door.

Terrierbitch they can actually phone the dog wardens to come round and inspect your premises

there maybe nothing wrong with them to the eye regards dogs being in good health and the actual

cleanliness of the kennels themself but if they feel there is to much noise coming from the dogs!!

wait for it they dont have to tell you they are outside or near your property if the noise is bad then they have the power to phone the Environment officer who in turn could if pushed serve you with an Asbo i know cos it has happened to a neibour of mine two doors down who kept rotweilers

and the fact they were round at mine as first they thought the barking was coming from mine

hope this helps and you sort it out.

Cheers

i got a letter this morning after going out last night off a nieghbour.iwent out with the missus to her dads pub and slept there.before i went out i walked fed and cleaned the dogs out.the dogs live in a converted shed in a 15foot run.i just want to know if they can seek legal action, this is how the letter read---

could i point out that while you have been out all night your dogs have been yapping and howling since 6 am.this is not acceptable,it is very unfair on all your neighbours and also on the dogs who are obviousley distressed.personally i do not wish to be woken at such an early hour on a sunday morning, and this is not the first time it has happend!if you want to own dogs you should be more responsible owners,so please try to be more thoughtfull in the future, otherwise we may consider legal action.

now my dogs are well looked after there walked everyday cleaned out everyday fed well on working dog food or rabbits,i spend as much time as i can with them, but am i not allowed a night out?its not as tho its every week i have sleplt out twice since having dogs and there 1yr old and a 7 month old.there usually quiet dogs, but there dogs and they do bark if they play see a cat or squirrel.but its really pi**ed me off coz i make an effort with the nieghbours,iv helped them cut trees down and always considerate with bbqs music ect.and to send a letter, and not even see me face to face?!!?!can they seek legal action and is there a chance they vcould be taken off me?

My first question to your nieghbour would be. "How do you know i was out all night"

My second would be "Have you been perving on me through the windows again"

Then i would say Dogs bark sometimes, You would be the first to moan if you got robbed and the dogs didnt make a sound.

Long as they dont make a habit of it dont worry.

i know which neighbour it was coz she sent a xmas card and is the same hand writing.hopefully il get to see her tomorrow and talk to her face to face.im a laid back bloke and work on a 3 strikes and your out rule so il not react in a bad way now but if she does end up getting legal action on me then il be watering her plants with diesel and be a nightmare neighbour and give her something to moan about.

I'd try talking to her first- especially as you know who she is. I said on prev thread that I ended up reporting a women who used to walk her dog before 5am & leave it outside EVERY morning whilst she did her house work. It barked from 5/15am ish. I tried talking to her- she just gave me earache so reported her.

Most people would be a bit peeved if they barked all night but if its not usual behavioue Id have hoped that some one would have hasd a looked around to make sure dogs not barking for a reason.

Next time you need to go out- either let dog in or chuck an old jumper or something with your smell on it. that may calm them down a bit

nothing worse than a barking/yapping dog. its like sitting with a bad head. people shouldnt have to put up with it. if you were woke up at that time im sure you wouldnt be happy about. mosnt people wouldnt be happy.

try puting a radio on in their kennel on low. keeps them ocupied and i would be going round to the neighbours with a piece of hummble pie

like it or not, some people are just not comfortable with face to face confrontation. If it was me, I would be grateful that she or he wrote the letter and put it in the box versus ringing the RSPCA or Council ... at least now you know about the problem and can correct it rather than being pestered by the RSPCA or Council.
