nieghbour trouble

Recommended Posts

i went out lastnight with the missus i stopped out at the pub, when i got in this morning i recieved a letter this is how it read.

could i point out that while you have been out all night your dogs have been yapping and howling since 6 am.this is not acceptable,it is unfair on all your nieghbours and also the dogs, who are obviosley distressed.personally i do not wish to be woken at such an hour on a sunday morning, and this is not the first time this has happend!if you want to own dogs you should be more responsable owners,so please try to be more thoughtfull in the future, otherwise we may consider legal action.

i went out at 6pm and got in at 10 this morning.i took the dogs out for a big walk cleaned them out and fed them and gave them fresh water before i went out.i dont think im out of order for going out 1 night.am i? what i want to know is can they seek legal action?they live outside in a converted shed and have a 15 foot run.they are well looked after.there living conditions are spot on.so because they was barking and howling at 6 they are distressed?!?!they were proberley play fighting.i have an idea who it is and there out at the moment, but id like to go and tell them to get fecked and get legal action.but only want to that if they havent got a leg to stand on./???

if your in a council house you could have issues even if your in a private house the envioroment department could be called in to take action against you ,bettet to try and get on with your neigbours or more shit could come of it ie when your in late from lamping ect, if your dogs are noisy its up to you to have them quiet even if it means getting a dog sitter while your out

Neighbours could gather a petition against you, but i wouldnt worry as yet.

6PM till 10AM in my opinion is a little long for dogs to be left in the kennels no matter how long their run is.

Are you sure this is your first complaint?

Have your dogs barked before whilst you have been there? What have you done to stop this?

Have you apologised to your neighbours, and explained to them why you think the dogs were barking, they might not be educated about dog playing, as it will sound to others as as a dog fight.

The list is endless, and dogs are a huge responsability.

Best of luck

;)

This is how it is. Regardless of how long your dogs are shut away or the condition of your dogs this is not the complaint. The complaint is the barking.

No matter if your dogs are playing or communicating with each other if the noise goes on continuous at an unsociable hour it is a problem.

The council will inform the enviromental health on grounds of noise pollution they will then set up a sound meter in the house of the person whom made the complaint once they have a reading if it is above a certain level you will get one official warning letter after that you will end up in court.

The best thing you can do is keep your dogs quiet at night it will save you a lot of hastle in the long run trust me ive been through the same thing

GOOD LUCK MATE.

Why not bring em in the house , when you go out.? If its only when you go out is the prob, just stick them in one room. It might be better to do that, than loose some of your dogs if the [counsel] get involved :wallbash: ??

I have 5 dogs that very seldom make a sound but the old b*****d next doors dog barks 24/7, it drives me f*****g crazy.

why do people keep a noisy f*****g creature with out doing anything about it.

all 5 of mine were in my yard this morning and not a yap, his dog is locked in a 10ft x 10ft space barking it f*****g head off.

If it was for the length of time they were out last night it might not be such a good idea.

For certain there will be some mess to clean up when he gets back but still better than risking loosing the dogs in my opinion. If a complaint does go to Environmental Health they will measure the noise and ask the person to keep a diary. I don't know what point they will contact you - either before or after this point. I presume they will have to do it first to be fair to you and to make sure you are aware there is a problem. The diary will be a list of times the neighbours are disturbed by your barking. If you only go out once in a blue moon can't see there been much for them to go on but if it is a re-occurring problem then you will have to take steps to control it. Try one of the bark control units that go on the wall and will work for all the dogs and not just one.

Hope you solve the matter.
