whats the biggest rat you've ever caught/seen?

i caught one in a pro victor this mornig and it must have been pregnant cos it was really fat and about 12 inches long from head to tail.

and i have seen bigger ones around rubbish bins. so whats your biggest?

well, im not sure as i dont measure rats as a rule mate... BUT the biggest one ive measured (only because of JH's king rat comp) was 21 or 22 inches from nose to tip of tail.

wow! thats a little umbelievalbe but if its true then what do they feeds on round there! in america rats get hugge by feeding on the steriods they give to wild boar to make them big for trophy hunters. i think they where about the size you said.

As far as I know they were eating chicken feed and dead chickens and eggs, so plenty protien there. It was the biggest out of over 300 rats, taken that afternoon with the dogs.

21 inches in a Fenn about 30 years ago.

 

Most around here barely reach 8 inches.
