lurchers and water

my year old lurcher wont go in water at all she goes in but only ankle deep i no its still bit cold for em yet but just wondered how i can get her to go in and have a swim round when the weather gets warmer any tips would be great cheers

i let the dogs have a mess about on the field chasing each other and generally pissing about,then walk em to the lake at first they just drank out of it but now its getting warmer theyre lying in it by the time i get there

yeah mine goes in shallows but wont go fully in even when my mates 2 springers go in she wont follow them

do what i saw a bloke do with his jack russell...wait until its lookin off a bank thing (over the edge of the water) push her in lol

the best way is to chuck them in the water when theyre about 5 months old theyll just go in then it worked for me anyway

- must be them black and tans - in the genes hahaha , hate it when she does it , even worse when she thinks shes a terrier and goes bushing , she comes out with all sorts stick and tangled in her tail lol.

we have a canel behind our house and one of mine wasnt to keen so i sent my hubbie up one side with a lure me with the dog on the other he trew it as far out as he could and pulled it back in after a couple of times she dived in after it now we cant keep her out !!
