wren 8
In reply to Celtic Hound wondering about the stewards showing. cast your mind back to last year. I think I'm right but you judged the Members Class last year, the only class the stewards can enter on the day, odd that you forgot. The other judges were asked by the organiser, I believe, to judge the Bull X and the EDRD qualifier class. Every other show that runs these qualifiers does the same, as I am sure you know, because its a condition of the qualifing class. You get to most shows and no doubt have a wealth of knowledge gained over at least 3 years, so is this just a dig at the NLRC, Hartlepool organisers or something more personal? At the end of the day, if memory serves, you won your class, so maybe the judge got something right afterall
celtic hound 2
it was'nt a dig at anyone i simply stated what i saw,i believe it's called an observation.if memory serves me correctly another lad was asked to judge your members class but was too busy with the terriers,so i stepped in to help out and i must've got something right as you won did you not?and as for having 3 years worth of knowledge,my father had lurchers all my life and i got my first aged 11.so unless maths has greatly changed since you were at school that's 22 years,i know i look young but that's just the oil of ugly i apply daily Edited April 29, 2009 by celtic hound
wren 8
I certainly do remember getting a first in a hard fought class of 3, and very nice it was too. My point was, you have been round the shows for 3 or so years, learned about how they are run, done some judging I believe, and although I' m a gnats whisker off being a pensioner, couldn't quite see why you thought it was 'strange', when most others follow the same system, but there you go. Wouldn't know about anyone else being asked to judge, as you said, because that shows nothing to do with me, I just help out a bit if they shorthanded. I'll take your word for it on the maths, school held little appeal for me.
Roxanskip 4
was some strange goings on today at the lurcher ring.people judging/stewarding then showing, how many judges were there?then again it's the n.l.r.c so it's to be expected, feckin mad.other than that i thought it was alright, been to worse anyway.i did win a class or two so mines a biased opinion ha ha Could you please tell me which judge showed a dog I think you have got yourself mixed up. If you took notice at all the only people who entered their dogs was in the members class, and they were stewards. Non of the judges even entered the members class. I know that for a fact because they didn't have any dogs with them. You should get your facts straight first
chartpolski 23,940
Lurcher shows in general are corupt ! NLRC shows in particular are the most corupt ! "I'll judge this week, and you'll win........You judge next week and I'll win " !! Seen it to often !! There are some shows where there are real working dogs being shown, and decent judges picking working dogs; e.g. the EDRD show; Neilston Working Terrier Show, Etc., But by and large, if you aren't one of the "clique", just go to a show for the craic; 'cause you sure won't win anything !!! Cheers.
