Guest MOLLY
Dont know what your on about...it is not illegal to dock working dogs, this was made exempt in the bill, and i dont think the bill has actually come into force yet anyway. Vets should dock them no probs. MOLL.

big v 0
your right molly, butalot of vets won/t do it anymore. every vet in my locality is refusing to dock tails, they have been told by the royal college of vets that if they are caught docking they will lose thier license without a license they cant practice so they have got them by the balls
Guest MOLLY
your right molly, butalot of vets won/t do it anymore. every vet in my locality is refusing to dock tails, they have been told by the royal college of vets that if they are caught docking they will lose thier license without a license they cant practice so they have got them by the balls But they cannot do that surely, they cannot take their licence away if they are not doing something illegal and docking working dogs is not illegal? If you contact the CA im sure they will have a list of people in your area who will dock. Or at the bottom of this link there is a phone number, i should imagine of you contact these people they can inform you of your nearest vet to perform the dock? http://www.vets4docking.org.uk/statement.htm MOLL. Guest MOLLY
Ive tried looking it up. This is why a lot of vets are all saying no to cover their backs now... From the royal college guide to professional conduct. For the avoidance of any doubt, any instance of tail docking which is found to have been undertaken for reason which were not truly theraputic or prophylactic = (certain working breeds are docked as a precationary measure based on the premise that the tail may suffer damage in later life when the dog is working) will necessarily constitute an unacceptable mutilation of the dog, which, if carried out by a veterinary surgeon who knew or ought to have known of the lack of true justification , would almost certainly be considered to be conduct disgraceful in a professional respect. http://www.bva.co.uk/policy/issues/pol_brief_docking.pdf MOLL.
