FENS FEVER 147
its down to persnal preffrence .....great dogs arnt always great produces ...where average dogs can be good produces.....we can argue whats the better runner some people wernt that keen on buddy others where,,..same goes for caspa ....charlie wasnt supposed to be anything speical but hes was one of the best produces.....not point argueing ...pic your stud ...pic yer pup ....and run it......its all a lottery......and its also alot to do with the bitch your putting the stud over infact some say its got more to do with the bitch then the dog ......... well said snoopdog i think a pup follows 70 percent of the mother Quote Link to post
wurzelbert 9
yes i've always heard that its 70% mothers genes and woudn't have a pup out of a bitch unless it had been tested over at very least 3 seasons Quote Link to post
snoopdog 1,256
its down to persnal preffrence .....great dogs arnt always great produces ...where average dogs can be good produces.....we can argue whats the better runner some people wernt that keen on buddy others where,,..same goes for caspa ....charlie wasnt supposed to be anything speical but hes was one of the best produces.....not point argueing ...pic your stud ...pic yer pup ....and run it......its all a lottery......and its also alot to do with the bitch your putting the stud over infact some say its got more to do with the bitch then the dog ......... You hear the same saying Snoops be it with Lurchers, Coursing Greyhounds or Track Greyhounds ie the Bitch is more important ? Me personally i believe its an old wifes tale, the Sire and Dam are as important as each other, the Chromosomes DNA whatever is split 50/50 , breed from proven stock that is proven over generations (a good bloodline) if possible, definatly breed from parentage that could do the job your breeding for ( pointles breeding from X and Y just because its the easy option and they are maybe yours and your next door neighbours dog ect) There are no guarentees with anything but good breeding will come thru a lot more than scatterbred stuff ever will. Just as important is GOOD rearing and SCHOOLING.Then you might just get lucky and the bloodlines will Click and thats when Legends are born, From time to time you WILL get a brood that would throw to a jack russell put the right dogs across them and you could have the start of a Dynesty. ive never bred a litter myself...i cant talk from exspearience ....but if its 50 / 50 how come you can get a rough haired pup for exsample of two smooth haired parents..maybe it was becasue the mother to the mother of pups had rough hair.....and the fathers was all smooth 5 genrations back.....so the mothers gene was stronger ....or vise verser.....ive seen litters that look nothing like there parents....and also seen litters that all have thrown to look like there mother in build and colour.....and vice verser........again i think it down to personal belief.....who knows......unless someone knows facts....if they did we would all have world beaters.,...and we wouldnt be able to crab anyones dog and there would be no argueing ...how fooking boring would that be,,,, //lololol Quote Link to post

J Darcy 5,871
Well Fella's.... I have seen a good number of dogs run, and on some pretty biggish land too. And if i had a choice of any stud dog in the country, past or present, i would plumb for Buddy. He has sired some of the best running dogs i have been fortunate to witness. I think many need to look at the big picture..... Getting a top class dog isnt easy....But its a darn sight easier than getting a top class producer... Quality blood shines through lads......JD Quote Link to post
