dogs-n-natives 1,182
I have still got lots of land to clear moles from, but this dry weather is slowing me down big time... The fells are usually good easy trapping, but the surface has dried to a hard crust and the peat is like dust! Still, its nice to be out and about with the sky larks and pipits, curlews and peewits nesting all around... So ive decided to clear the hay meadows and other priorities, leaving the rest until late summer/autumn.... How are you lot doing this spring? Has the dry hot weather been helping or hindering your work? Quote Link to post
peeps_76 17
hi i am not a pro trapper but have been doing well against the mole on families farm's in the north of scotland but havent been able to catch any for a while now the ground here is also very dry and dusty and the moles seem to be deeper down. i flattend the heaps on 3 6 acre fields 12 days ago and there are no new heaps up yet. waiting for some rain to moisten things up again now! regards P Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Although the dry weather has hardened the ground trapping is still going well in my neck of the woods, not so much in the heavy peat but fairly well in other areas. What a difference two days of good sunshine makes turning the ground to stone. Happy trapping Back to wet necks and undercrackers now though. Quote Link to post
