a*beater 0
I went out last night while some of you were tapping the keyboard in the forums I done pretty good as normal although after finding my optimum zero with my rifle the bunnie bashing was even better. I took home 9 big ones & left 3 babies for the badger, I had quite a few wrigglers making it to the stinger nettles for their grave. Feck getting stung to bits collecting them I'm sure the fox and mr badger will clear them for me anyway So in total I killed about 20 and took home 9 for the pot hi mate i know it is totally irrelevant but still what ike is that looks like a nice bike indeed Quote Link to post

bullmastiff 615
Always been a .22 man myself, and I've never seen a maggie duck either! I've been tempted to switch to .177, but then on the other hand I was out shooting with a mate and his .177 raider a few weeks back. Now on both nights my mate hit a rabbit about a 1/4 of an inch too low, and hit it in the jaw. Those rabbits then got up and had to be caught by the lurcher, whereas I've seen rabbits hit in the same place with a .22 and be killed outright. We all know that .177 or .22 will kill cleanly, but I reckon you've got ever so slightly more margin for error with the .22. But then we're only talking fractions. Personally I'm also a .22 man. When your talking margins for error, I believe the .177 is probably better than the .22 Over 30yds the .177 will only rise 1/4 inch above you line of sight, whereas the .22 can be almost a 2 inch differance between 15 and 30 yds. so you've got to be a lot better at judging distances. With a .22 though as stated before you've got a larger kill zone to aim at, swings and roundabouts really. just what your used to. Quote Link to post
