Night Vision add-on Ordered

Well it's only money  but I've just ordered THIS NIGHT VISION ADD-ON

I was wondering if anybody here has used these Yukon systems and could tell me about their experiences with it???

Not had any experience with that one, but I would like to know how you get on with it as I am thinking of going down that route as well.

I will certainly post all my finding on it when I take it out bunny bashing Michael ;)

i think its a great idea timelord but you wont be able tp pick the bloody gun up off the floor if you carry on adding extras to it LOL

My S-TYPE is a lump anyway so a little more weight won't hurt me ;)

i've had one of these (moved on since then)

once you try NV you'll never look back.the unit you're getting does comprimise the eye relief with the scope so the best thing to do is mount the scope as far forward as you can get away with for daytime use which will help with your head position when you ad the add on.

the illuminator thats with it isn't bad but you can improve distance and clarity by investing in a laser illuminator.

Now that's very reassuring half n' half ;) My scope is all the way forward right now so this will not be too much of an issue. Already I have an IR laser plus illuminator and to top it off I've got a very expensive IR passing filter that fits onto my Cluson lamp.

I tested the filter on it's own on my lamp using my dads night vision monocular and to my amazement I was seeing stuff at nearly 400m very clear :)

This is just an introduction for me getting into night vision shooting as I don't want to keep changing scopes all the time to go out shooting. Maybe in the future I'll get another Rapid S-TYPE which will be dedicated for night vision use only. In doing this I would probably be looking into a few grands worth of kit to add onto another gun.

Thanks for your advice buddy it's been really helpful :)

Well there's one thing I did learn from the army, and that's the SA80 sling stops loads of fatigue so carrying my my gun is a real breeze ;)

there used to be some vids on youtube by a chap called snipertaffy of rat shooting on a pig farm using one of those yukon add ons!

he had a camcorder rigged up to the night vision and the vids were as clear as day!

sadly been removed from youtube now!

so hows it going with the add-on?

im almost in the market for one myself, but im really looking for one that fits onto the other end of the scope, i worry that a nv add-on will screw with my aim if its attached to the 'eye side' of the scope

It's not here yet and tomorrow I'm off to Tenerife so maybe it will be here when I get back. Rest assured I will post my findings....
