Bosun11 537
I've seen one too and yes, it was a handy little dog, bit snipe headed for me but it grafted underground and was a crackin ratter BUT.... One Swallow doesn't make a summer! Why breed the litter? Is your Russell a worker? Is the Fox terrier a worker? If either arn't, and a worker is required, there are enough advertised, on here for starters. Breeding from tried and tested stock can be tricky enough to produce decent dogs for 'real' terrier work. What of the rest of the litter, can you find decent homes for 'em, would you advertise them as working dogs? If your missus's mate is so keen for her dog to reproduce, would she not be better finding a decent Fox terrier stud, i'm sure there would be a bigger and more lucritive market for the pups?? Guest flapper
i posted a thred earlier on a fox terier x jack russell. i have come back from viewing the bitch. , she is'nt a fox terrier at all. She is a jack russell x bagle x patterdale. i no this because i no the man who bred her 2 years ago. The man who breeds theses dog will pass them off as anything as long as he gets a sale. the lady was shocked when i told her her beloved dog wasnt what she thought it was. Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
sounds like many a man does that lieing pete from cresent lurchers had any cross you wanted, depending on what you were after. if it was rough coated it was anything from a beady to a deerhound cross Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
Why didn't you post that on the earlier thred? Anyways, my post on that still applies! Quote Link to post

Guest oldskool
an old fella that lives out by the mrs home place has 2 wire fox terriers with papers and a crufts champion in the papers... very nice to look at and they hunt cover like hounds... he's not a hunting man of any sort its just what the terriers get up to when they get out for a stretch... i always fancied a wire one that could work to ground but where do ye start your search??? i've heard of a couple of smooth ones that could graft a bit in the south, i think 'terrier man' on here has one??? Waz 4,266
Does the snipey head not cause a bit of grief? Whats your thinking behind that? Smooth fox terrier. Smooth in the background. (now retired at 11, holds at the end of a dig, snipey headed). Quote Link to post
