zingiber 0
Hi all, Have seen a 22-250 Remington 700, think its a BDL model advertised recently and wondered what you all thought of this as a 22-250... any comments? Good/bad/ugly? Ta. Quote Link to post
victor 10
i like 22-250's, power but then again a light projectile. and too light some say and to noisy. great fox,roo and outher small game rifle but a long shot with abit of wind can send your shot all over the place. just a few pro's and cons for you.. well mainly cons Quote Link to post
lgray88 4
i shoot a .22-250 its a great round extremely flat , i havent found wind too much of a issue at sensible ranges but when you want too push out 400+ then maybe so but that just has to be learned over time you will get used to it then know how much to compensate for the wind conditions. liam Quote Link to post
zingiber 0
Thanks both. Am pretty much decided upon a 22-250 want it for foxing and other long range on-ground vermin mostly crows etc. Just wondered if anyone has a Remington 700 out there & would recommend one? Quote Link to post
lgray88 4
i think there a pretty good rifle from what i have seen of them , never fired one. i think they guarantee some kind of accuracy level, so you cant lose and they are very modifiable anything you dont like you can change , trigger will be first on your list as you can get much better than the standard r700 trigger Edited April 22, 2009 by lgray88 Quote Link to post

humperdingle 0
I have a CZ550 in .22-250 and it's a lovely rifle. Nice and solid. I also know a couple of other guys with Remington 700s, and they're pretty happy with them (Synthetic models) .22-250 is a fun calibre! Can't say i've noticed a problem with wind shift, but then I don't shoot at uber distances. Quote Link to post

3bl 0
If you are worried about bullet weight at distance, wind etc, then you can go for a heavier head,75-80grain,the normal barrel twist in a 22-250 is 1-14,1-12,should you wish to shoot 75grain etc,you would have to go to a 1-8 twist or faster, and this would possibly mean fitting a custom barrel good luck with your remmy. Mr_Logic 5
As a vermin tool the 22-250 is an excellent calibre, and the Remington 700 an excellent rifle. Get it and enjoy Quote Link to post
zingiber 0
Nice rifle. Seems to shoot well, not had much practice yet though but snapped it up as it was a steal. Need to find a good scope now! Quote Link to post
