if that was in england then i hope you get prosecuted

I take it you just don't agree with this form of hunting?

It's an effective method of pest control, I take it you wouldn't whinge if it was a pack of Terriers on a Rat, or hounds on a fox?

He's an Aussie you tit. Check the flag next to his avatar! (or his other posts) Plus it's a differant breed of pig than we get here, also the collars his dogs are wearing are BLOODY hard to get hold of over here. Only one person I know of on our little Island that makes them and they look nothing like that.

So if your going to bitch and moan about something you've obviously not got the faintest clue about then get your facts right :good:

Some cracking looking dogs by the way Shane and looks like they can graft as well :good:

there are two sets of pics, aren't there; shane's action pics are from NZ (southern cross is red not white) and not sure where Bull's haul of game were taken.....(not that we need exact location)?

while you might not agree with how others hunt, john, you might try being a little more diplomatic when expressing your opinion.

sure people should try to observe laws of the land, but when some of the laws are out-dated, not effective or just created by ill-informed pencil-necks whose idea of country life is sunday lunch in the suburbs, then i'd say if you aren't stealing or hurting anyone just get on with it.............

up yours arshole , then you wonder why the protectionists "pic on you" what a twat

they don't "pic on me"

where i live it is not yet illegal for men to do man things. there are still enough of us that the demagogues ignore the twats when we speak together. if pushed far enough we may even still have what it tsakes to initiate revolution, but i doubt it. in the mean time we are not yet in your shoes. so do suck up to the rspca & the cops who would gladly hang you for letting your dogs kill a rat but will ignore your downloads of kiddie porn & defend your right to murder unborn children.

on the continent the boar are driven with packs of terriers( jagd, fox, russels) which are alot less likely to be torn up in thick cover( which pigs will take upon being rumbled) as they are quicker and lighter.

in the olden days they used packers( normally big dogs with a dash of blood hound) which did as a rule not get old.

a saying in german is " if you want the pigs head,be prepared to lose dogs heads"

i have spent a fair few years with packs in germany and we have lost a few dogs( the more the pigs get worked the more likley to take the dog on rather than run on). it is not pretty. gutted, crushed and chewed up.

as spoken of in a previous post, the males around 40 kilo are very game.

a boar will cut you with his tusks, a sow will chew on you like a rottweiler.

don't under estimate them they are more intelligent than a dog, can make up to 40 kmh,( buggers can't climb trees though!)

if wounded they get pissed off!

good luck all.

Well It's offical!!! DEFRA have finally admitted that wild Boar are breeding in England! Shooting Times has done an artical on it, Kent and East sussex have the the largest sounders (social groups), up to 100 are thought to be roaming around the area of Berkley! with large groups in Dorset, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Devon and now even Somerset!!! One guys been studying them since 1983! this is his site -www.britishwildboar.org.uk Anyone know the Law about hunting them? What sort of calibre should we be looking at? would a .243 stop a pig???
