mick20 23
Fed dry food(James Wellbeloved at present) to mine for last 10 yrs or so. When i first started with ferrets 30 yrs + ago i fed them what was available, rabbit, pigeon and donations from my dad (he was a butcher). Truthfully i do think they carry a bit more weight eating dry but dont really see any difference when they are working. Benefits of dry food are no smell and no flies. Main drawback is cost - especially if you have a few of the little critters to feed. I think its a matter of personal preference what you feed. Quote Link to post
liongeorge 7
Mine are on Wellbeloved, a bit more expensive but better quality than Chudleys. They do have a tendancy turn theyr noses up at meat so I take out the dry till they gotta eat it. Keeps them on thier toes and stops them getting too fat! Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
I feed alpha ferret feast and found it to be decent stuff no fat ferrets and no problems they get mice and birds that the cat drags in and rabbit and any other raw meat. The buggers turned their nose up at a full fresh chicken last week so took it out and tossed it. ferretmaniac 5
The only thing i dnt like about feeding too much dry food is that it can bloat the ferrets out abit and make them fat. But i feed mine either wet or dry food. it doesnt really make any difference. Obviously if you catch some nice fresh game then feed them that. Always goes down well cheers FM Quote Link to post
