curly 3
the village i live in used to be two farms a few cottages and a church, the farms have now been turned into holiday homes, the barns into holiday lets, and the cottages into second homes. a mate in the village has had complaints about his cock if they dont like rural country life tell them to f**k off back to where they came from. or get 10 pigs and feed them at 5am every day. desertdog 149
the thing is they will record any noise and use it if it goes to court, just let him out later if you can, and watch it at weekends, otherwise
harrycatcat 31
Spoke to the woman across the road and she said yes it was me who reported the cockeral cos he keeps waking me up at 04.15am every morning and I have been everso ill for the last two years and I need my rest. I felt awfull. So I have blocked out the light that gets into the coop and dont let him out till 07.30am so tried it for the first time last night see how it goes. If that doesnt work I think I will give him away or neck him and get a couple more hens like someone suggested.
lamping-lad 160
IF HES CROWING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NITE PUT HIS PERCH UP HIGH SO HIS HEAD NEARLY TOUCHES THE ROOF SO HE CANT EXTEND HIS NECK TO CROW.

farlap 19
She's not been in touch yet but will keep you posted. we had a simple solution to it...when shutting up every night, just lift him off the perch, put in a terrier box, and bring indoors. We used to put ours in the cupboard under the stairs and then let him out about 8 in the morning when the hens were let out. really simple.
harrycatcat 31
Well things seem to be ok as I saw the woman and she says he has stopped crowing at 4am and she has only noticed him once at just after 6am so she seems happy. She says her husband goes to work at 6 so shes up anyway. However the cockerel will have to watch his p's and q's as the t*at has started pecking the back of my leg when I turn my back on him. He did it this morning and I gave him a good poke with the broom handle. I tried to pick him up but he run off the little s*it bag. It seems like an on going saga. harrycatcat 31
Just had the environment health officer ring me about the cockerel. Well she was so full of sh*t she never shut up and was so condesending. In the end I said "can you just listen a minute" and I told her what I had done with carpet over the coop and put him to bed and not letting him out till 7.30am and the woman across the road was happy with the efforts that I had made. It was as though she wasn't listening cos off she went again with legal twattle and telling me all about the atitudes of cockerals. So I thought just p*ss off missus I am fed up with you now and I told her that I had to go and ring me another day.
