Recommended Posts

does breeding a bitch make it harder iv heard heaps of times that it does but have had little experience and never really followed up on it (i only keeps dogs) i'v talked to poeple who breed gfor that reason and was speacking to a bloke today who siad his bitch is going twice as good after he's bred off it so is it a fact or a myth or just proberble?

As for running dogs i dont know 100% but terrier bitches seem to get a bit wreckless after having a litter, ive seen it plenty of times and its not a myth as far as im concerned,

Ive got a whippet bitch thats not matured properly at 22 months, ive heard that a lad from Scotland had the same problem [same bloodline as mine]and bred the bitch and its completely changed her so there could be something in it?

There was a similar thread on yesterday.

I dont think it changes the bitch any. But i have noticed that during the pregnancy bitches can get very intense about food including living creatures they percieve as food. I had a grey bitch 9yrs ago, she was as dumb as a rock. As soon a s she got pregnant she got very canny at catching stuff and pulled moves she never had before. After breeding she went back to her dumb old self.

ya well a good dog obviously isnt going to improve im talking breeding from average bitches

The Scottish lads dog was not picking up or being cautious about picking up,strange for a whippet, mine's a demon runner loads of heart stamina but reluctant to "nail" she's not really interested in sitters, although things have recently improved,

All im saying is the Scots dog just altered by all accounts after being bred and now nails anything moving or not, personally i think in our case its just a maturity thing and the dog matured fully after having the litter,

Personally i wouldn't breed a bitch at that age but this lad did and it seems to have worked for him.

You wouldn't notice any change in a tryer anyway,a mediocre or reluctant bitch maybe.
