Guest buster321c
Well ive just come in from the farm .Been there since this afternoon . Ive had 3 in all , but daytime is funny , sometimes you can get lucky , but mostly the best times are dusk and dawn .I saw a few this after but only got one ( and that went under a holly bush and i could`nt get it ) but as the evening started to come in there was a few more about . I got 2 as i lay by the hedgerow , about 35 yds both head shots . You do tend to see more evening time , welll i do on my permission . If there all running as you arrive , you should brush up on your field craft . Good luck with it Edited April 18, 2009 by buster321c Quote Link to post

Guest buster321c
AS with everything mate , practise makes perfect . Are you going around together ? if so i suggest you both go seperate ways and try your luck yourself . A good thing to do is go there alone , with no gun and see how close you can get , but be patience is everything , move slowly and quietly and have a try . Also you could you could have a good look round , find the warren(s) and sit/lie about 30yds away and watch , this will be good for when you return with your gun , but patience is the key Quote Link to post

Guest hyperion
like any thing really it depends on the weather, what the land is like its self, are there lots of foxes about or people using the land in the day ect! best advice i can give is spend as much time on the ground as often as you can and at different times of day in all weathers and keep your eyes open, you will soon learn where and when the rabbits are about! cheers hyperion Quote Link to post
Guest Scuba1
back home ( in Spain ) I used to go before dawn to places where the rabbits have their feeding grounds and set up my mat and a bit of cover ( if there was none) and wait till it got light. Keep as still as possible and wait for them to come out. Don't take a torch or you will use it. its a bit like carp fishing. I never used to leave my cover to recover the dropped rabbits, just pick them up when i went home. Sounds boring, but there is so much to listen to when you are out on your own away from phones and people and when it starts to get into dawn, you will see a hell of a lot of other things other then rabbits. It is the best time of the day for me and the rabbits i do get are just a bonus. HTH Michael Quote Link to post
