Holdaway 2
Woke up late (nice lie in) at 6.30am. At 07.00 I shot a magpie in the garden which was stealing the bread I put out for the little birdies (bless). Set up a kania in the small wood at the inlaws and forgot the piccies. Set out after wood pigeons, set up the bouncer, deeks, tree sitter thingies and waited, then waited some more. Went home bored. Mate calls up to go fly fishing, this is more like it. Caught bugger all. On the fishing trip I came across this mermaid that some kids had made up. Stopped to have a ciggy and watched a mole push up a brand new hill right beside me. Moved along the bank and came across this. The keeper (I presume) couldn't be arsed to pick up after himself. The far bank was awash with bluebells, glorious, shan't bore you with that though! This bank was rife with badger, fox, rabbit, squirrel and everything else sign. Took a piccy of this, the best print I have seen in a while. A while ago I was asked to shoot some jackdaws nesting in the chimneys of a house in the country, I had a body grip stolen from there a few days ago which was set for squirrels, but went back anyway The lady of the house also told me there was A rabbit on the front lawn. Not any more, and he brought a friend. And while I was there... Back off to inlaws to check the traps and had a mole too! While I was there I took this I had a pretty good day all in all. How was your day? H Quote Link to post

Holdaway 2
A great piece of gorse brush at the fence/hedge line their mate. Any runs coming onto the silage/hay fields? I have found a fantastic place to snare on one of my permissions, the number of rabbits is small but the location is screaming out for some wires. I will try to get some out with pics on my next early finish. This week I am starting at 2 or 3 every morning and not finishing till either 9 am or 12 noon, silly to let the foxes. badgers and crows get their fill from my hard work and extremely unfair on the bunnies. I took a rabbit today at 43 yards in the head, I couldn't have made a better shot with a rimfire. Also took a Jay as it was being harrassed by a pair of blackbirds and a pair of thrushes, it was hunting the hedgerow for nests. H Quote Link to post

Holdaway 2
It's a fox guys. Partly mummified. The keeper (if that's who it was) should have picked up. There are four deer hides in the trees around that field and I get the feeling they may have taken a chance shot when waiting for bigger things, or they could have used the hides to call the red in.
