Swampy 147
I used to love football, Blackburn Rovers but in recent years I have gone off it, full of ponces and stupid money nowdays, can't be arsed.........Sooner watch Rugby................. Damn Right! When are we going to retrict clubs to the number of foreign players? Arsenal fielded a team in the Euro Cup without one single English player, let alone a Londoner! Teams now do not reflect their towns. Except in the lower leagues. Give me rugby everytime. Either code Swampy Ninging at fullback & centre

Either code Swampy Ninging at fullback & centre I beg to differ....although on the whole your right...but some teams still mave morals and try to do things the right way.....im somewhat biased but i do believe in my club West Ham who at the moment are 7th in probably the greatest league in the world and over the last 20 years have on a weekly basis fielded around 70% not just english players but relatively local lads.....its not looking as good now a foreign manager has come in but west ham produce and field by far more local talent than any other premier league team....even most of the better england players in these big clubs full of foreigners were raised by west ham....lampard,terry,cole,ferdinand,carrick etc etc.... and many others going right back to paul ince.... How many of todays true football fans can honestly say they are proud of their club and team......can arsenal or chelsea fans ?....most of their fans cant even pronounce their players names ! Leaving the door wide open for the obvious joke about most of their fans can hardly talk............... True about WHUFC. But still far to many non local lads playing. A god youth policy always works....Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Notts Forrest produce a fair few local talent. rgds Swampy PS. Watford or Luton were the two nearest clubs to me so I kind of watch out for their results.....Thats all tho! PPS God policy should read Good..........or maybe not eh? lanesra 3,994
Every thing about football has changed some good some bad, im 40 and the game i knew as a kid growin up is nothin like todays game, players and stadiums. though look at the world class players weve had the chance to see Bergkamp, Cantona, Torres, Guillit, Zola ect have been brilliant for english football, there have been some bad players i will grant you , the lad West Ham had prefered to go shoppin than play accordin to redknapp.... back to the question ARSENAL.
