Fidgety 8
To those of you who hatch eggs in an incubator, what breed do you hatch, what percentage success from fertile eggs do you get, and which incubator do you use?
valentino 0
i used a corti 25....got decent hatches between 50 and 75%,....apart from once where it was my fault anyway after using it 4 times it broke.... i have used a hovabator....imo a waste of time....good as a hatcher but for use of a incubator i wasnt impressed i have got a octagon advance now and used it once.....100% hatch rate so i was impressed with it

jasper65 6
If I do fresh eggs I weigh them down so my success rate varies but not too bad! although I had a tragedy last year when the power was off for a good 6 hours through the night . If I Incubate eggs thats had some natural Incubation then I can confidently say its in the high 90's%. Just a few days of good natural Incubation and they seem to come out like shelling peas. the problem is if I am pulling eggs off a bird to say 8 - 10 then the first few eggs need to go somewhere and end up in the Inc or if possible a foster birds to sit them..... I used Brinsea Oct 20's in the past and they was fine with things like Harrishawks and the like! the only problem I found with them is if your room temperature fluctuates a great deal from being warm in the day time to cooling in the evening the brinsea needed tweaking up and down a degree or so, probably down to the Insulation. I tried a good few in the past includeing the Roll X and Turn X but none are as stable as this Grumbach!! It also has a timer for the turner so eggs can be turned as Often or as little as you want.... Jasper
