Mitch 0
I have made a few wires for fox and am trying them out at the moment. Havent taken a fox yet though. I know you set them with a 9 inch loop at 9 inch of the ground i think. If you look through this forum type in Fox snaring and it will bring up some threads with pictures. There are some clever blokes on here and they have done really well with catching fox in snares. I looked at those pics to try and get an idea, Good luck and i hope you get some pictures up when you catch a fox Quote Link to post

steamingutpiles 117
Unless you can get a "Master of the Wires" to show you you'll have ti wing it. Most of us learned by trail and error. 6" loop - 6" off the ground - washer, cam-lock or thompson type lock - 1/16" 7x7 and your away. Make sure you provide entanglement opportunity or you'll lose your fingers Quote Link to post
Mitch 0
I hope woodga snareman or peg say something, Because i have read about fox snaring on here before, and i think its illeagle in the UK to set snares for fox at 6' because of badger??? Someone help him i dont know ... Quote Link to post
woodga 170
SET YOUR FOX WIRE AT LEAST 9 INCHES FROM THE GROUND USE A NICE BIG LOOP 10 X8 FITTED WITH A DEER STOP IF SNARING IN WOOD LAND OR OPEN RUNS , SETTING SNARES LOWER THAN 9 INCHES WILL RESULT IN THE TAKING OF NON TARGET SPECIES IE BADGER ECT , AND ITS ILLEGAL OVER HER TO USE ANY TYPE OF CAM LOCK OR LOCKING EYELET. KEEP YOUR WIRES SET UP ON OPEN RUNS AND YOU WILL TAKE FOX AROUND THE NECK mate THIS FOX WONT KNOW WHAT HIT IT GOOD HUNTING ALL WOODGA  Quote Link to post
