recently my dog has been getting stomach cramps... hes had it 3 times and he has been given a massage on his stomach and then hes been ok. but last night he got it again and he tried to bit my mate who always feeds him so it was obvious it was really sore on him..

now the dog hasnt had a change of routine or food so i dont no whats wrong with him... its happened when hes went to eat his food and last night was the worst hes had it cause he tried to bite my mate...

if it happens again il take the dog to the vet but has anyone ever had anything like this happen to there dog or no what it could be?

Is worming up to date? That would be my first thought. My second thought would be that he has eaten something he cannot digest, are you missing anything a sock or kids toy?

You should also feed a probiotic in either the water or food. This will help gut function.

However, it does sound like you should get him checked out by a vet asap.

you say its happening at feed time so i would think there is something affecting the digestion is it shitting OK is it sick after eating could it of got hold of and eaten something it shouldn't. it sounds to me like an xray would probably tell you a lot. i would go to the vets ASAP if you haven't already good luck let us know how the dog gets on.

he is due to be wormed soon so i will get that sorted.

he sleeps outside with with another dog and is never in the house so he couldnt have ate anything odd like a sock or somethime. he is going to the toilet the same a usual with no difference... he does sleep in a run in the middle of a large chicken run and ive seen him eat the chicken shit sometimes as i put him in the run so me and my mate think that thats the problem so hes been kept on the lead until hes in his own run.... so im pretty sure that this is the cause but if it does happen to happen again he will be takin to the vets asap... thank you for everyones advice

If he is due to be wormed, get it done asap. Also get a wormer from the vets not a supermarket one as they dont work!

Chicken shit can also burn the stomach lining so I would try not to let him eat it.

Hope he gets better soon.

thank you, this doesnt happen every night with him, its only happens 4 times over the last 3 or so months.

i also might add that he does eat like a hoover. he sleeps with another lurcher and eats twice as much food in less time that the other dog, so i have a funny feeling that plays a big part in it as well. i no when i eat to fast it gets sore so i can only imagine the same for the dog... im getting a new bowl for him tomorrow thats meant to slow him down when eating so that should be the end of it.

thanks again for your advice jembo
