Brown Magpies?

Anyone ever seen them? Theres loads near me, someone told its because there young, and will turn black as the grow older - i don't believe that, there the same size as normal?

As far as i know baby magpies are still black. I have also heard of brown magpies. Its just a mutation. But as it has no adverse effect on the bid i guess they can survive quite well. I didn't know that they existed in any large number though, when you say loads are we taling 5 or 6 or like 100?

Didn't say he shouldn't. The guy was just interested as to whether they existed. He never said he wasn't going to shoot them if they were in fact magpies. It would appear that they are so shoot away.

In the interest of being politicly correct, you can't call them black. They would be non white. ...... Hold on, the brown ones are none white as well. Never mind just shoot all the ones that are not white. Sorted :hunter:

I think it is PC to call magpies with black bits black and magpies with brown bits brown as that is what colour they are. All this PC crazyness confuses me so know exactly what you mean Scuba.

 

And I am pretty certain that scuba is still talking birds.

3 certainly doesn't sound impossible. Brown magpies areknown to exist.

Magpies can look a bit larger though, with the longer tail etc.
