anti bark collars do they work?

Recommended Posts

Not by my experience derbylad! I had 2 which give a audible signal first followed by a mild shock, if the dog keeps barking it gets a slightly stronger shock...

the thing is if another dog starts to bark then the poor dog with the collar on gets the wack :hmm:. both seemed to work better with the terriers than the Brittany I have here, the Brittany has always been a yappy dog and could bark clean through the shocks until the batteries ran out. thats the other thing I found with these! if the bateries are a bit low it hardly has any effect on the dog.......

Forget spray and forget frequencey based collars, get an electric one, Citronella collars are deemed more "humane", whats better, a quick shock or citronella spoaryed up your primary sense?

its sprays under the chin not down its nose.theirs also scent free which i used.its the noise not the smell that puts them off.

Canicalm, neearly had to get rid of mine until i got 2 canicalm shock collars. They work on the vibration and noise of the howl or bark. Stopped my dogs within a couple of days. They emit a warning beep, then a longer beep, then a shock. The sensitivity of the pick up can be adjusted and also the amount of shock a dog gets.

Tried the spray ones and the sound ones, didnt work for me though. ;)
