Lamping problem! I need a better set-up.

Recommended Posts

Hi, folks.

I'm having problems with my lamping gear.

I use springers, and have tried scope mounted lamps, but I'm fed up with having to re-zero each time I take it off or put it back on.

I've been useing a Petzel 5 LED head torch for a while, and it's fine out to 25 yards or so but not enough power for any further.

I'm useing a good enough scope, I could use a little help with my lighting problem though......

Cheers.

Andy.

What rifle scope combo are you using ? I use a Deben tracer atom on my 95k and don't re-zero, little difference in POI on or off.

Thanks for all your help, chaps

It's an HW90K, Walther 3-9x56 IR scope, HW moderator that I use.

I've tried a few types of scope and gun mounted lights and I know I'll never be able to stop the re-zeroing problem with extra stuff on the gun.

I don't like PCPs. I know they've some advantages over a springer, but I don't like the way they shoot and I'm a lazy bugger, so I don't like all the faffing about that goes with them. I've tried a few but they just don't do it for me.

I guess I'm stuck with the head torch route!

I'll look into the torches mentioned.

Again, many thanks for all your help.

Cheers.

Andy.

(Maybe I should try new mounts........ JOKE!!)

or barrel mount it.. used to have one on the tip of the barrel on a HW80 years back..two secs to set the spot light..

How is barrel mounting the light going to stop the liamp from adding weight to the gun?

Is it me or is no one actually reading the post properly?

skin the innerds out..glue on a wire.. two lacky bands, weighs a few grams. only other way is to use the CREE range tacticle lights, or pop one on your bonse... as above. (batteries in your pocket...)

You could get a deben tracer light as they are very thin, you could mount it inside the cylinder in front of the piston. That way it is in line with the spring and it may just lessen the recoil a bit but not upset the balance. Looks a bit like a laser till you put a pellet in the barrel.

You two are mad. More sensible than what the others were suggesting though to be honest.

I will buy one!

All the best with your new invention.
