solostoke 1
my dog is kept indoors, sleeps on the bed, comes to work with me and then goes out hunting with me. always by my side. makes for a strong bond i think. hes not soft either before ppl say it, he will run through anything lol Quote Link to post
mccloud 0
4 Adult dogs and one older pup all sleep outside. New 8 week old, sleeps inside until he's big enough not to get squashed by an adult. They do come in during the day if we are home. Advantages ? Slightly less doghair to clean up. Not always under your feet ! You have the sofa to yourself once they've gone to bed I personally think its better for them. Quote Link to post
Billy c 0
i keep mine out i think it makes them stronger dogs Quote Link to post
lurchergrrl 1,441
I can't see how keeping them out makes them stronger. It's all down to preference I think and depends on how many you've got. In or out, if they are well cared for that's all that matters Quote Link to post
poacher3161 1,766
depends on the type of dog lurchers make good house dogs springer spanials dont ie lurchers in spanials out. Quote Link to post
Guest AngelicAcid
How can it make them stronger, is it becasue your kennels cold? Thinking they can withstand harsher weather? should be warm as toast for the during the winter, and it is anyway during the summer. Not starting an arguement, some circumstances require a dog to be kept in doors for a number of reasons, like not enough room in the kennel. Quote Link to post
Malt 379
I've always kept my dogs indoors, but then I've never had more than 2. I've read that the only advantage to keeping a dog out doors, is that it's winter coat will come in thicker. Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
springer spaniels i have found [bANNED TEXT] kept indors tend to lose the condition of their coat and a springer kept out side tends to have a lot tougher coat.It is onley something i have noticed by keeping them both in and out over the years.Lurchers i have found fare better [bANNED TEXT] kept indoors. atb Quote Link to post

Guest Catcher
I kept a lurcher in the house about 1992 for about fourteen mnth.Until it chewed the new pine table leg.The dragon got out of bed went down the stairs. Then i heard all hell brakeing lose.Anyway she ran back upstaire and gave me bellter,s.after that the cog was in the kennel,s.But i can honestly say the dog cane on a lot quicker being in the house.your are telling it what to do more and you are bonding better with the dog I could go on and on all being said .I think the dog come,s on quicker and better.atb .catcher Quote Link to post
