cyclonebri1 8
Hi mate, From my personnel experience, in retrospect, if you tell them (honestly), that you have no mental issues, they will take that as read unless someone provides info to the contary . Again, being on anti depressants is not grounds alone for a revoke in it's own right, they have to show you are a threat to "someone". Also, antidepressent drugs can also be provided for nerve/nervous conditions, niether of which should be a concern of the police. Quote Link to post
activeviii 8
I had an accident at work, Cable tv installer. this left me with back problems, one of the pain killers that i abused were tramadol, these are great, if you like roller coasters. when you take then you go up but i was finding after a few years the come down, that was about 4 hrs, dropped to about 2 1/2 hrs. it left me as mr angry. i couldnt take then after 5pm as i wouldnt sleep at all, but by ot taking them i couldnt get out of bed in the morning because of pain. i was given anti-depressants to stop my getting so high and to help with the lows. didnt work very well for one reason or they other.lol. after a short while doing this i got to see another specialist who put me on gabapentin (epilepsy pills) to stop the nerves firing in the same way. still on these now even though i do not suffer in anyway with eplitepsy. need to change again as im having other side affects but i have got rid of all the tramadol and antidepressants. I havent had my SG long but i have told the FLO all that has been going on and was told its not a problem. I have just applied for my FAC now as well. just because your on a pill dont mean its used for what people think there for. A phone call to the FLO might help to find out what is needed to get your ticket back, also a shout to the BASC wouldnt go a miss. Best of luck Regards Phil Quote Link to post
Country Life 0
and by the way i have got a lighter for my fag,s Pardon, LOL you've lost me I think he was on the lines that he may wish to become an arsonist... Its a disgrace considering you was up front and said you had no firearms at home. After all the tickets you have are all on a compurer file / database. I would assume that you filled in the correct paper work describing how you got rid of your guns, and in that case they was out of order turning up armed and mob handed. I am a member of BASC and if that was to happen to me I would have been on the phone to them ASAP. I had depression before I applied for my tickets, doc wrote to them saying I was not a threat to myself or anyone else...got my tickets without any further trouble....but that doesnt meen to say in the future thing will change and become a threat... NOT THAT I WILL OF COURSE. Like the man said "will they take your car liscence off you as well" Good luck hope you get back into shooting, there isnt anything wrong with going back to your roots and getting an air rifle, as you say you are doing.. Just being out there in good weather is medication in its own right. John Quote Link to post
artic 595
Depression is enough to have your cert taken away. In the eyes of the law you COULD be a danger to yourself and others. The Police will not risk this. It doesnt matter that you have no guns, they would of been aware of this, as you know having the cert in your posession is just the same as having access to guns. Sorry to read this, phone the FLO and see what loop you can go through if there is one. BASC will do diddle di poop on this situation, the FLO have the final say. Good Luck. Quote Link to post

Depression alone is not a reason to revoke a certificate. There is no need for any loopholes. Depression is not an abbreviation for suicidal, homicidal maniac!!! BASC can and will help, but you may need to keep pushing them. Quote Link to post
njc110381 0
Sorry to hear that you've lost your ticket. That's a real bugger! I think the police have good reason to take it though. My stepmother had depression and seemed to just get a bit down sometimes. A year later she was hanging from the door in the local mental hospital. It sounds like you're pretty well sorted in comparison, but they have to work on a worst case basis. Get yourself an air rifle and go out and enjoy it when you can. All this will blow over in a few years and you can re-apply when you've dropped the medication. Good luck Quote Link to post
