dicehorn 38
What magnification do you have your scope on at night when using a lamp or nightvision? Thanks For lamping i will use about 8x usually. N/V will be - it depends. It depends what sort of N/V you have. The more you turn up the mag the less clearer the image is at distance. On mine which attaches to the eye piece of my scope (unavailable in the UK) it is still clear at 200 yds on 7x but for best results out to 300 yds I turn it down to 5.5x Quote Link to post

ATL Hi ATL Been asked this a few times! No maker's name on it - had to wait 3 years for one - had to fly out of this country to get it. Actually, under stars it is possible to distinguish between a fox and a badger at 600 yards. I hasten to add not by me as my eyes are old but by a young friend with excellent eyesight. It will also give a reasonable picture in moderate rain out to 150 yards. Also there is no green hue with it. Please dont ask what it cost me Came with no guarantee Quote Link to post
The one 8,473
On the rimmy its a fixed 8 x52 scope you loose it a bit close in but thats not what its for my air rifle can be increased x9 nice big scopes to catch the last of the light Quote Link to post
all things lead 0
Hey dicehorn, Must be Very good Gen 3+ or even 4 too see that far out. You say you had to wait 3 years! to see that distance must have cost you thousands and no green hue must be the new technology that doesn't use the phosphor screens?? Would be interesting to find out what manufacturer make it is? ATL Quote Link to post

dave1372 83
Anyone? I use a dedicated Gen2+ ATN Trident Pro 6X on my .22 rimfire and with IR laser illuminator you can see clearly out to 300yds. Although costing £2k I consider it money well spent..... if you buy cheap you will always regret it and upgrade within a couple of years so grit your teeth and dig into your wallet and don't tell the wife for Christs sake, or as I did tell her the cost in 'wife pounds' which is currently 1 wife pound to £4 sterling! If you are ever up this way and want to check it out feel free to get in touch and I will take you out and show you. Good luck. Quote Link to post
all things lead 0
Hey dave1372, I use an ATN NVM-14 CGTI add on on my .223, recognition range with a suitable illuminator is 300yds+. Have had charlie at 250yds good enough for me!, well worth the money. Any one fancy a look, and if your in the South Wales area give me a shout would be more than happy to give a demo.
