i remember exacly where i was when news came through the game had been stopped , didnt realise the facts as the update was not like today is with sky , just thought there had been a bit of crowd trouble (how wrong was i), remember the next night they had a service in liverpool and a young lad sang "youll never walk alone" certainly brought a tear to this Arsenal fan, think the majority of football people will all be united in thinkin of the family and friends of those 96 who lost there lives that day.

To be honest am sick of hearing about it, terrible tragedy though it was and respect to the families who lost people but........... theres little or no fuss about the bradford fire, heysel etc etc and yes I am an evertonian (although thats got nothing to do with it !!!)

TWO SEMI FINALS TOOK PLACE THAT DAY WE WENT TO

VILLA PARK THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CITY WENT

TO HILLSBORO UP THE MOTORWAY THAT MORNING

ALL THE BANTER REDS AND BLUES, , WHAT UNFOLDED THAT

DAY , SHOULD NEVER BE FORGOTTEN IF YOU FOLLOW FOOTBALL

THE FA HAVE BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS AS DO THE YORKSHIRE

POLICE, THE FA SENT THE LFC FANS TO THE LEPINGS LANE END

THE OPPOSITE END OF THE GROUND TO WERE THEY HAD TRAVELED

THE SMALLER OF THE TWO ENDS , THUS CAUSING THE POLICE THE ADDED PROBLEM

OF TWO SETS OF FANS CROSSING IN THE MIDDLE TO GAIN ACCESS , THE TURNSTILES

AT THAT END COULD NOT COPE WITH THE INFLUX OF PEOPLE, THE POLICE

THEN MADE MATTERS WORSE BY HERDING FANS THUR ONE AREA WHEN THE HAD A LARGE

GATE CLOSED THEY SAID TO MAKE CROWD CONTROL EASIER , THE POLICE ON HORSE BACK

MERSEYSIDE POLICE BY THE WAY ACTED LIKE THEY WERE HERDING SHEEP, FORCING PEOPLE IN

WHEN GROWN MEN COMPLAINED OF THE CRUSH THE MOUNTED POLICE PUSHED THEM FORWARD WITH

THERE HORSES , ONE OFF MY MATES DIED IN THE TUNNEL BEFORE THE KICKOFF CRUSHED TO THE FLOOR AND TRAMPLED , THE POLICE AT THE FRONT SEEN LADS CLIMBING UP TO THE STAND BECAUSE OF THE CRUSH, THE ANSWER WAS TO BEAT THEM DOWN UNTIL THE CROWN IN THE STANDS TURNED ON THEM. THE MATCH KICKED OFF , PEOPLE BEHIND THE GOAL SHOUTING AT BRUCE GROBBERLOR , WERE DYING IN HERE BRUCE STILL THE POLICE TOOK NO ACTION THE SENT MORE OFFICERS TO STAND AND WATCH . WHILE PEOPLE DYED , THE FANS THEM SELVES STARTED RIPPING DOWN THE FENCES TO GET OUT , 15 MINUTES HAD PAST MY MATE HAD BEEN DEAD 30 , THE REF BLEW HIS WHISTLE WHEN THEY FINALLY REALIZED THE ENORMITY OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING , TODAY THE HICKS FAMILY STILL FIGHT ON TO PROVE HIS DAUGHTER DIED NOT FROM AN ACCIDENT BUT UNLAWFUL DEATH , ALL IT WOULD HAVE TOOK WAS TO DELAY THE KICK OFF OR FOR THE HEAD COPPER TO GIVE THE ORDER OPEN THAT GATE ,RIP NICKY JOYNES

At the time I was living within sight of the stadium...I remember running backwards and forwards with cups of tea and coffee that my mum ahd made for the fans sat outside our house while they waitied for news of people they'd got seperated from in the ground.

One mans been back every year since to say thanks to my mum and dad for what they did that day, I've been over to my parents today to meet the man..a real mixture of emotions.

I was only 16 at the time and there's definately some pictures in my mind i'd rather not be there.

My thoughts are with the friends, family and loved ones of anyone affected by the tragic days events.

Cheers

A tragedy, nothing can bring them back, nothing will make up for the voids left in the lives of the victims families.

So many factors are to blame and together they caused the death of the 96.

They should be remembered never forgotten.
