JDFrain 1
Check the law mate, that would be the first thing to do, for all this seems an innocent act to carry out pretty certain its a criminal offence, it may seem a bit daft but sure it is. All it takes is a nosey neighbour to shop you to the police. Sure i read recently of someone getting a £1200.00 fine for doing this. (passage taken from the basc website) It is also against the law, in England and Wales, to fire an air rifle within 50 feet of the centre of a highway if this results in someone being injured, interrupted or endangered. These offences could be committed, for example, when someone is shooting in their garden close to a road and the pellets ricochet onto the highway. harrycatcat 31
http://www.basc.org.uk/en/utilities/docume...CB1E5BE12CC69D8 Have a look here Aaron is shows what you can shoot lawfully in Wales and in what circumstances. Its called the general licence and it would pay for you to read it in my opinion. Good luck anyway my young friend. Quote Link to post

OK Aaron, I will try another way, if the neighbour reports you to the police and they come out to you what will you say? What crops are you protecting? what damage has been done ? where is the damage can you show me? Will your answers be good enough under scrutiny? These are the questions you need to be sure that you can answer before shooting wild birds. Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
1. my neighbours are cool with me shooting. i even have a neighbour who i supply with game. 2. there is considerable damage to my crops wich i can prove is done by wood pigeons. 3.i am protecting my mums crops as she sells them to a organic resteraunt so wood pigeons are effecting on how much money she makes. HAPPY NOW? now can someone please tell me how to set my 5 decoys correctly for airgun shooting. Quote Link to post
JDFrain 1
my advice would be to put the decoys in a horse shoe shape all pointing into the wind this leaves the open end the landin point. also the more decoys the better. john Quote Link to post

aaronpigeonplucker 32
i am sure that giving my neighbour a rabbit or a squirrel from time to time is not a criminal offence. They gut it and skin it themselves so it is nothing to do with meat hygeine. so please stop trying to say that everything i do is against the law. Quote Link to post
shottyscotty 3
ok this is going too far with the whole meat hygiene test if your not selling them then there is no need for this and as long as he has a reason, witch he does, then he is perfectly within his rights to shoot them. i suggest you try setting them up in a L shape or a U shape but you dont have many decoys so it can be diffecult. If you look at your original post you said shooting in your garden. I just did not want you to get into bother thats all. Good luck with the pigeons. Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
i was jsut suprised how long it took for me to find an ansewr to my question, "what pattern should i put my decoys in?". i would not shoot something for no reason. i would not shoot if there was a highway right next to me.
