A good days digging

Had a good day out today with Topper and his dogs also ferret feller and rod & dog on the shovels .

 

Ok i need to explain about the first crap posting ......I started it late last night after coming back from the pub after having a few pints So this was the start of my problems i can remember starting the post and getting the pics ready to up load but thats when the sleeping juice kicked in so her indoors thinking she was helping me took the laptop off me before it fell of my lap ! had a quick read of the post and sent it for upload So i will start again now im awake

Had a good day out today with Topper and his dogs also ferret feller and rod & dog on the shovels .The day started at 7am for Topper /Ferret Feller and rod&dog ( i had to work so i was late on the ground )By the time i got to sett the lads had already sunk a few holes and had three dead foxs and the were digging down to another fox on a new sett the tubes on this sett were very tight ( old rabbit burrys) Toppers choc dog TED was digging his way down but not makin g much ground so after about 45 mins of baying and digging Topper lifted TED out his two slaves (Lloyd and Will) wer put to work to make the holes bigger .Topper decided to try his young dog PIG as he is much smaller so hafter putting the coller on him down he went and within 10 seconds he was baying his head off Topper got a mark on the box over just over the meter so yet again his two trusty slaves wer put to work ..Now credit where credits due he may be a young one but slave no1 WILL (ferret Feller) he can dig give the lad a spade and he just keeps going Anyway back to the action after a very hard dig the slave broke though and pulled out the young dog followed by a very dead fox however this could have ended very bad as the tubes wer so small it seemed that the young dog had pushed on so far he had cut his own air supply off as when he was lifted out he was gasping for air and a bit life less but after a good rub down by Topper he soon was back to nornal (for small dogs they have a brave heart )so with a quick back fill and a quick phone call to the farmer/keeper to let him know we wer all done he sugested we have a look at one more sett not far away so a quick load of the trucks and off we went to meet him in the farm yard .He took us to a small three hole sett in nice easy digging red dirt (how wrong we wer)this sett was up and under a large hedge with some large branches that would have to be cut down first before any digging can take place .Topper got the big boy out again TED so with a quick sniff of the holes he he picked one and down he went ,within a few mins he was baying away at his next victim after a run around under ground they settled in one place so out came Toppers slaves again .But this time digging was imposable because of the hegdes so the chainsaw was got out and a nice big hole was cut in to the hedge With this done Toppers slaves started digging ,on the box was 1.6 meters and they hit big roots all the way down to about 1meter then they hit clay so every few mins Lloyd and Will swaped over on the digging this hole was taking ages so i think TED got fed up of waiting for us to get to him and killed the fox and came out with a look on his face to say so what took you so long as you can see from the pics will was trying his hardest to locate the tunnel with a probe but the ground was just hard to push it in. The dog was put back to ground just to make sure it was dead .Ted showed no intrest any more so we made the decision to back fill the hole as we wer getting nowhere with the digging .We did a quick repair of the hedge packed all the kit away and tryed to get Lloyd to buy the beers but the tight ass had no money but there will allways be a next time .

Anyway lads it was nice to meet you all for the first time and do a bit of hunting together and i will see if i can sort some more out for us ..

.I think Llodys wallet is down here some where

Honest Boss Topper Lloyds dosh is down here some where give me abit more time and i may find it for the pub

the choc nutter aka ted was in the hole mate those pair were to frightened to get to him , it wasnt a bad day we had a few but nothing to shout about !

 

don i see what you mean it s nice to have slaves although i reckon me and kev would have done it in half the time that lloyd makes a good superviser.lol

lloyds not really tight but some do say he s been cercumsized, i dont think young will be so keen on that spade the next time

Yea thanks Kev and topps and will,,Was a decent day out,, im sure the gamekeeper/farmer was happy with the result and im sure theres more to be done. See you soon.
