danebrewer10 6
sorry mate but in my humble opinion you can read and soak up all the theory you want and educate yourself to a certain level but you just CANNOT beat experience or hands on in any form.ive come across this in many forms especially my work where people proceed to advise other swithout any experience but ive read aload of books....result? ....if i hadnt stepped in 90% chance they might have killed themselves. lets face it ...thats the problem these days lack of apprenticeships etc.......your car brakes are totally goosed ...do you let your next door neighbour fix them coz hes read up on it ......or do you get your other neighbour whose a time servrd mechanic fix em?? v bear in mind you may have wife or kids or grandkids in same car which may or may not now be a death trap with buggered brakes. reading up on a subject is commendable but IMHO shouldnt be dishing out advice unless you have practible experience on a subject. sauer Fair duff mate, but I wouldn't advise on stuff like reloading for that very reason anyway, but you gotta take info on any forum with a pinch of salt, what might be good/safe in/for one gun might be extremely dangerous, like putting someone's hot .45-70 reload for their ruger no.1 in a repro rolling block or trapdoor springfield (not many people can only say that it won't be safe due to other peoples experiences and info- I can't see anyone willing to blow up their gun (or their hands)just to see if it's safe or not they'll use other peoples info)..... but the first time you do something, you don't have any experience anyway, I might get into "proper" rifle shooting/stalking and i'll have a good base of knowledge to make informed decisions with... IMO but yes, you learn from experience..... Quote Link to post

Most forums are wrong, there seem to be few people in this country who actually get out and do, and a lot who regurgitate stuff they've read. I don't have a massive problem so long as those people say they don't actually know what they're talking about, and you did, so fair enough really. Quote Link to post
sauer 2
yeah ok mmm humble pie and i apologise but as qioted above you did state your lack of experience in this field very openly unlike others who preach with no experience and pretend otherwise so i take that onboard and again apologise me thinks i was a bit quick off of the mark all the best sauer Quote Link to post

cbw 4
Mr L.....You are VERY wrong, just yesterday I learned a new asparagus recipe.....On this forum! Pictures and instructions from a German man who obviously can do what he says!!! Must cook the recipe first then I might pick him up from Colchester to shoot a few of my bunnies!!! Mr S, It also looks better than your humble pie !!!! The best way to buy a scope is to look through as many as possible then spend as much as you can afford!!! Dont use it as a Mod as that will void the warranty. CBW Edited April 16, 2009 by cbw Quote Link to post
