Recommended Posts

Hello again. Sorry to put the same post up twice, but the first one quickly degenerated into a slanging match.

Any old way, what do you guys reakon? Too much techno these days? Not enough? What do you like/dislike and why?

Cheers.

P.S. Anyone wanting to use this post to take pot-shots at other folks on here, please feel free to f**k off.

P.P.S. Thanks to you folks who put real posts up the first time round.

I find my high powered green laser useful for shooting from the hip and range finding in an instant. Also IR (Illuminated Reticles) are another fantastic gizmo for low light usage and lamping, to aquire the target in an instant....

hey all i think the technology in our sport a gud thing but .i hate it when people buy the latest gucci realtree and think their invisabull and spend 2grand on the latest rifle jus because it has a little lcd screen on it and they think they will never miss a shot again. these thing are to help us .not shoot for us .and as quite alot of us know a good springer in compatant hands will outshoot the latest pcp in not so compatant hands every day off the week. thats just what i think .

A scope with zoom and IR is all that I have on my gun and that will do me for now. Thinking about getting a scope mounted light as it is more comfortable then a separate one. But I don't class that as high technology.

That's about as far as mine goes too. I may be old school, but I've always found what's best is to keep it quick and easy to use in the field.

When you've only got a very few seconds to compose your shot, you don't have the time to be pi**ing about with too much choice.

I.R. is a thing I've used for the past year or so, and I do find it's useful for low light so long as the ret's it's not too brightly illuminated.

I'd like to know what other folks find useful, or not?!?

Come on, what do you fans of techno think?

Cheers.

More a fan of 'Hard house' myself, that Techno's a bit heavy for me! :hmm::laugh:

Seriously, I've always been a traditionalist myself, rifle, scope & pellets.

A friend of mine used to have a bit of a scope fetish at one point. He had this huge fecking thing on his stealth once, not sure what mag it was, or how much he paid for it, but it was a serious piece of kit. It was more suited to a centrefire rifle, the zoom on it was unbelievable.

Problem was, but the time he'd adjusted it to take a shot, the rabbit had fecked off back into the bushes!

keep it simple !!!!

less to go wrong.

most of this techno gear requires charging / batteries....if they go flat in the feild and you have no spares...your fecked.

we all need to learn to shoot, without assistance at first....this makes us a better shot.

when thats acheived treat yourself to all the techno gear you want and when it go's wrong, and it can't tell you what to do, at least you will have half a chance at still being able to shoot !!!!

just my opinion.

all the best

my HW99 brings home the bacon and thats all I care about. I can strip it, tune it, repair it all cheaply without sending it off anywhere. I do like a good make, average price scope and mounts that will hold a good zero, but I dont think much else is really going to improve my bag at the end of the day. I have had my cb625 chrono since they first come out and that is invaluable for power check and finding best pellet type.

theres plenty of techno stuff i would like to get but would it really improve my bags, i somewhat doubt it will. atm all i have is a multishot PCP scope with IR (god send) and a logun silencer also well worth it, i would like a bipod and an NV add on thing but then just another thing for me to break :D

A bipod is not really a gadget but when you speak of night vision well this is a route I'm definately gonna go. I'm looking at getting a night vision add-on to my day scope and on one of my shoots this with the bipod will be a good bit of fun for me but not the bunnies.

Night vision will be my selfish pleasure as I usually go lamping with my friends so when I'm on my own I will use night vision :)
