digger63 3
Unless you want a dog to work rabbit and fox why have a terrier? rabbit dogs should never be able to go to ground, many terriers are lost going to ground on rabbits,if you want a good bushing marking dog that is obediant why not try a spaniel or a whippet x,the best all round rabbit dog[and most intellegant dog] i ever saw was a whippet/lab, marked setts, caught loads on top and very very trainable. Once saw the dog catch a young rabbit on the other side of a high fence and my mate[the owner] told him to "let it go" the dog dropped the rabbit and stood perfectly still and watched the rabbit run off, wouldn't beleive it if i hadn't seen it with my own eyes,i think the dog knew the difference between a young and old rabbit. Dont go for a terrier from all out digging lines, youll spend more time looking for it than catching rabbits, and thats from experiance.
