The one 8,511
As i said before THE LAST THING YOUR NEEDING IS A FERRET you had the perfect opportunity with your brothers one but you said it was jumping at the wire well they all do that they should be happy to see you ,they know your taking them out supplying food ,water letting them run about the garden etc . And as Ive said before help a mate out that's got ferrets for a season so if you get any problems there's a ADULT there to help . But by the sound of the replies neither you or your brother should be thinking about another ferret Quote Link to post

Tallyho 181
stick to reading up on them and go out with your mates ferrets as much as possible if they own ferrets then their is relay no need for you to own one as you can work as a team with you and your dogs. if you have this deep rooted fear it will always be there have a look at you tube and their war dance i don't think you will be able to pick a ferret up while its doing this ask straight forward questions learn, a much as you can if you had phrased your question- trying to understand ferrets, so as to be less afraid. you would of got a lot of help. please think before you type as you put your foot in it every time you start a topic please please please don't buy a ferret i don't see a need for you to own one. Ive got to admit I'm starting to think that you are just posting things like this for attention. I'm glad somone else can see it, i said may be she was an attention seeker when she wrote the last post about the ferret with no water . Quote Link to post

ferret15 0
in that case why say before you buy all that did was make people think less of you if you had worded your post differently as i stated in my first post you would of got lots of good advice. on the subject of this site not being as good as others, why are you still here then? as i said think how your posts could be perceived by others then type. JPTfellterrier 65
sorry but i dont understand how its worded wrongly....i was getting good advice until people started bringing my dog in to things and went off subject Quote Link to post
ferret15 0
still researching on ferrets before i buy i have read loads on the dietry and housing requirments but want to know everything before i buy and iam still frightened to death of them so am trying to get used to my mates ones i have managed to touch one and not run away when its on the floor so im getting there and also going to be doing a bit of ferreting but i have a few questions; what age do you start working ferrets? and how do you introduce them? i read somthing about if they are not sexually active it can kill them, is that true? and do you need a visectomised hob? also i dont understand the hole being in season thing, how long are they in season? can you work them when they are in season? any other advice would be great I'm not trying to have a go but the same people who are Reading this thread read the one about you walking past an empty water bottle for two days so mentioning that you intend to buy is going to provoke the response you got. if you had just said I'm trying to over come my fear etc etc. the response would of been totally different you would of got lots of advice because people would respect/admire you for trying to over come this fear and then when the time comes for you to own a ferret in a year or so depending on how it goes you would then be congratulated for you success, so can you see what difference a couple of words make. if you are not intending to buy anytime soon there is no need to say so because all every one is concerned about is the animal not getting the care and attention in needs because you are so scared. your post gave the impression that you were going to get a ferret to help you over come your fear, whereas you shouldn't get a ferret until you have overcome your fear totally. JPTfellterrier 65
well they should of asked what i ment before making acusations i was just trying to understand the working aspect and the hole season thing of them for the future and i only walked past it for two days because i only go past there once an evening to get dog food, i went past NO WATER so i asked my brother to fill it up as i couldnt, presumed he had filled it up and went to bed the next evening still NO WATER so i got my boyfriend to do it Quote Link to post
ferret15 0
sorry but i dont understand how its worded wrongly....i was getting good advice until people started bringing my dog in to things and went off subject you had one response of advice which i expect is from someone who didn't see the one about your brothers ferret. the dog wasn't mentioned until the second page most of your responses to this thread are from people saying don't get a ferret. and all for the same reason its not because people want to have a go at you but when an animals welfare is concerned every one wants the best possible out come edit to say the dog is only mentioned twice in three page Edited April 9, 2009 by ferret15 Quote Link to post
